April Newsletter

This month, we include an article from our technical team on IT Disaster Recovery Strategies. It is imperative that every business has an effective and proven data security and recovery system in place to minimise disruption due to unforeseen and potentially catastrophic events such as system crashes, fire and theft.

A business without such as strategy is placing its very viability at risk. Please read this article and re-evaluate your strategy to ensure it is in place, resilient, robust and proven! If you are unsure please contact us for advice.

In terms of product news there are two important announcements for Sage Construct and Sage CRM users.

Finally, as trailed in last month's Newsletter, don't forget to note the 23rd of June in your diary for our annual customer day which is being held at the new Swalec Stadium in Cardiff. We will be writing to you on this very soon.

Sage CRM Newsflash

On Tuesday April 21 2009 Microsoft deployed Internet Explorer 8 via the Microsoft Windows Update service.

Sage CRM only supports the following browsers:

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x & 7.x.

We would advise customers to use versions 6.x or 7.x only of Internet Explorer. However if customers are forced to use Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0 it is highly advisable that they run Internet Explorer in 'Compatibility Mode' to prevent any issues with CRM occurring.

The following Microsoft Knowledge Base article details how to enable compatibility mode within Internet Explorer 8.0:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956197/en-us

Sage CRM will support Internet Explorer 8 from version 6.2c onwards.

If you have any questions, please contact our support team on 02920 494757.

Hints & Tips

Is your IT Disaster Recovery policy good enough?

"Prevention is better than cure"

For those companies with an active Disaster Recovery plan, the implication of restoring your system state is at most a few hours downtime. For companies without any provision for Disaster Recovery, or verification that their policy actually succeeds in recovering data, the implications can be fatal to the continuity of the business.

Has outlook blocked your images?

If you need to right-click one of the images in this email to see the pictures, it's easy to set up Prosys as a 'safe sender' so you don't have to do this every time you receive an email bulletin. Select the Actions - Junk Mail menu and pick either the 'Add Sender' or 'Add Sender's Domain' option.
