December
Newsletter
This month we've
changed the format of the newsletter slightly by placing most of the detail
on-line, hidden behind hyperlinks. We hope this makes the Newsletter more
concise for you and easier to read.
Following the
recent changes in the standard VAT rate, we are pleased that all of our
customers seem to have got through the transition without any problems, however,
if you do have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sage and
the Credit Crunch
In view of the
credit crunch, we have included some hints on how to improve your credit control
procedures within Sage 50 and Sage 200. For those requiring more
advanced facilities, you really should acquaint yourself with Credit
Hound - the add-on credit control system for Sage 50 and Sage 200, click
here for more information.
This month also
includes some important information on new versions of Sage Construct and
Sage CRM.
On a lighter
note, Sage have recently announced a major new sponsorship in teaming up with
ITV1 and bringing back, perhaps TV's most challenging game show -
The Krypton
Factor. Sage didn't just sponsor
the show - it was their idea to bring it back! You can find out more
below.
We are delighted
to celebrate another 10th anniversary as this December, Tania Jones has been
with Prosys Computing for 10 years. Congratulations to Tania and here's to
another 10!!
Unfortunately, on
December 12th Leanne Eatwell will be leaving Prosys Computing for personal
reasons and returning to her home town of Swindon. While we are very sorry to
see Leanne go we all wish her the very best of luck for the future.
With Christmas
looming it just remains for us to wish you a very merry Christmas and a
happy and prosperous new year (particularly under the current climate). Please
note our Christmas holiday office hours below.

Payroll
Online
Submission of in-year Forms
Companies who
have 50 or more employees are already required to submit their Year End Forms
online, however, from the 6th April 2009 they will be required to submit the following in-year
forms online as well;
1. P45 Part 1 (Leaver)
2. P45 Part 3 (Starter)
3. P46 Notice of new employee
4. P46 (Pen) – This form is to be introduced in April 2009,
this replaces the P160 and PENNOT forms for sending details of a new pension or
annuity
Support
Working with
MS Office 2007 documents in older versions of MS Office
If you have a
version of Microsoft Office prior to 2007 you may already have experienced
errors opening 2007 files (docx, xlsx etc). 2007 documents are not backwards
compatible due to the format being based on XML.
Fear not! You are
able to download a Microsoft utility that once installed allows files you open
to be automatically converted to the correct format. You are also then able to
save documents in 2007 format.
Prosys Remote
Support Shortcut
One of the most
effective ways to help you with support issues is with remote support where we
can connect into your PC so that you can show us your queries and we can show
you the resolution. If we have done this before you should have a short cut
on your desktop called Prosys Support, if not please click here for instructions.
